Suggest Treatment For Cough And Runny Nose

Hi...my baby is 8 months old and he is coughing and has runny nose. I am giving him steam, rubbing baby vicks ti his chest and feet and using a few drops of eucalyptus oil on a cotton ball to keep near him. Also using saline water for his nose. Even after doing all his nose conjection remains and he screams. What should i do to keep his nasal passage clear and get rid of his cough and cold.

Hi welcome to healthcare magic forum ,

As your symptoms shows that your child has upper respiratory tract infection.

Mostly it is viral origin , so which last for 3 to 4 days unless secondary bacterial infection starts.

Viral infection usually subsides spontaneously with supportive treatment already what you are doing for your child.

But if don't subsides after 3 days than you should start antibiotic and antihistaminic drops as early as possible with advise of an ENT specialist to reduce the morbidity.
