Suggest Treatment For Cough And Chest Congestion

I had a bad cough and some congestion and went to the Dr on Wednesday, (walk in place, not my regular doc). She said i had bronchitis and sinusitis and gave me clarythromicin and Nasonex (using the Nasonex sparingly). My cough is better, not completely but bertter, but i feel like crap, and tonight am running a fever of 99.5-99.7 (orally) This is after being on antibiotics for 3 full days. Shouldn't the pills have made me feel better by now? And why would i develop a fever NOW? And lastly, i read that 90% of bronchitis is viral, so antibiotics won't work. How did she diagnose me as bacterial with no blood tests - just listned to my chest and looked in my throat ? (she said the throat was not red but one of my ears was. I still have some cough and feel a bit wheezy in my chest. I am 59, male

- Many times doctor prescribes antibiotics for prophylaxis to prevent
secondary infection .
- Viral infections do take time to recover .

- Along with medicines , deep breathing exercises , YOGA ,
gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil recovers
faster .
- Avoid smoking ,alcohol , exposure to dust , pollens .
