Suggest Treatment For Corn On Foot

I have a painful corn on the ball of my foot. It s like a small, hard kernel and it feels like I m stepping on a hot coal when I walk on it. It s not a callus; I ve treated many of them with freezone over the years so I think I know the difference. This hasn t responded to freezone. What s involved in laser surgery who is or is not a candidate?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Corn is a localised hyperkeratotic lesion in inverse conical shape..tip pointed deep in skin. It commonly occurs on pressure areas of soles. Laser therapy has no role. Surgical removal under local anaesthesia may be considered. Other mode of treatment is application of salicylic acid 12% solution on the lesion. Avoid pressure while walking. Use soft insole in shoes.

Thanks.
