Suggest Treatment For Constipation

Hi, I am trying to figure out if I need to go to the er or not. I am constipated. Have taken miralax and magnesium citrate (yesterday) and I have still not had a normal bowel movement. I feel like I had to go, but when I sit on the toilet, I feel pressure, but then it hurts like hell and only a tiny smidgeon comes out. I am worried. I ve only been constipated for a day, but I have to work later on and left early yesterday due to my discomfort.

Gastroenterologist 's  Response
Hello,
Don't worry ;you can use enema to relieve constipation which is caused as a side effect of drugs.Principle of enema is to irritate the rectal mucosa which causes defecation. You can ask you gastroenterologist to prescribe you Polyethelene Glycol.Polyethylene glycol-electrolyte solution is used to empty the colon. PEG-ES is in a class of medications called osmotic laxatives.you can take Magnesium citrate also.It is also a osmotic diuretic with same effect as Polyethylene glycol.
You will feel much better after it
