Suggest Treatment For Constant Tiredness And Drowsiness

The past couple of months I have been extremely tired. I get a lot of flack from my family and friends about how much I sleep and it is getting old. I can't help it though. I feel as though I haven't slept in days and all I want to do is sleep. Lets say I go to bed around 10 or 11pm, I can still sleep until about 3pm the next day. Most of the time I go to sleep around 1am and I have been known to miss class A LOT! I am always wanting to take naps and sleep in every where I go. Its awful. I wish I could be "normal" but I'm always feeling REALLY lazy. Any advice?

Such excessive fatigue could be due to a number of conditions. I would suggest you see your doctor to have a work up. Problems I would be looking at include sleep apnea, underactive thyroid, anemia, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, or heart or lung problems. Depending on the cause, the treatment can differ considerably, so it is important to get the correct diagnosis. You might need blood work, a sleep study, or other tests. Your doctor can decide what studies to do after a complete history and physical exam. Hope this helps.
