Suggest Treatment For Constant Radiating Pain From Neck To Shoulder

i have a herniated cevical disc at c5/c6 and following consultation with a neurosurgeon he has recommended ACDF surgery. I am in constant pain from my neck into my shoulder and right arm and suffer from tingling down to my thumb and index finger. The arm feels heavy at times and the pain can go down the right side of my back and also up into my head. As an ex-nurse the whole thing is very scary! The difficulty with swallowing post-op and fear is possibly preventing me from saying yes to the op! Any advice would be gratefully received. Thankyou. Carol

dear Ms Carol
if the herniated disc is causing so many symptoms and making you uncomfortable why not tackle it
having anxiety about a surgical procedure specially in medical and paramedical personel is quite natural as we do know both sided of the coin and its human nature to always expect the worse
my advice will be please trust your neurosurgeon and take the plunge you will not regret it i believe so
