Suggest Treatment For Constant Belching

I have a problem with constant belching. I have had UGI, colonoscopy and endoscopy and tests are normal. I do not wear dentures, do not drink sodas, and do not walk around or eat with mouth open. I do have diverticulosis. My problem with belching began suddenly in January 2014 and has continued from time I awake until I fall asleep. The only change to my medications were Metropolol tartrate 10 mg. instead of Metropolol ER and Atorvastatin 10 mg. instead of Crestor. This situation is very distressing and I need answers and help. What is causing my belching and what treatment is there for this problem? I have tried PPI and probiotics and balcefen and simethicone...none of these make any difference. Your advice as to more testing or treatment would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Darlene .....

Brief Answer:
Air swallowing can be the reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Excessive belching is called aerophagia. Due to air swallowing, you get this symptom. Air swallowing can be caused by chewing gum, smoking, eating too fast, loose dentures, drinking carbonated drinks.
In rare cases belching can be a sign of some stomach, esophagus or other abdominal organs issues.
I suggest you to try to eliminate mentioned factors first. If this wont help, you should consult your doctor and have some diagnostics. Abdominal ultrasound and gastroscopy should be done.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
