Suggest Treatment For Congestion

I ve had congstion/pressure in my head/teeth/cheeks..etc... since august of last year. I am 27 years old. I have had some drip in my throat...Clear and yellow at times. I have gone to a regular doctor and to a ear nose and throat specialist and they did a CT scan of my sinuses and they looked fine. Before that they had put me on a Levaquin. I took the levaquin for 20 days. Seemed like it helped but came back when i quit taking it. I also have had back problems for sometime now....5-7years. So I am wondering if any of this could be nerve damage?? My current precscriptions I take are xanax (anxiety) and hydrocodone(for back).

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain congestion in the head/teeth and cheeks along with post nasal drip are most commonly due to sinusitis caused due to infection and inflammation in sinuses..
While it can also be due to allergies..
Nerve damage does not probably seems to be a cause..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation and investigations like Blood tests can help in diagnosis and ruling out allergies..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, anti allerics like Levocetrizine..
Along with it do warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
Do warm compresses over painful area..
Avoid chilled food and air conditioned atmosphere..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
