Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been diagnosed with colon cancer. My cancer is in the center of the transverse colon and it is the size of a small orange. I had the CT scan and no other areas of the colon or none of the organs, bones or tissue are cancerous. All are normal except the transverse colon. I have been told that surgery only is needed, no chemo and no radiation. I was wondering..Will they be able to do my surgery laproscopically or will I have to be cut open? Also, how long am I looking at for recovery time?
first the effected part of colon is to be removed and have to take chemotherapy. consult oncologist for examination and advise on further treatment. general surgery with ga has to be done. they have to cut open chemo and radiation can not be ruled out without consultation with oncologist. you have to over come anxiety and fear psychosis.
