Suggest Treatment For Cold,sore Throat And Tonsillitis

Pls how can I bring down the swelling of my tonsils and throat finding it very difficult to swallow my own saliva let alone water is like my throat is closing up and its so painful it first started as a cold,sore throat now tonsils I was given antibiotics but it isn't working how do I bring the swelling and pain down. They pharmacists prescribed montelukast sodium & levocetirizinr but after seeing the side effects I am scared to take it what do I do

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain it seems like you had a viral throat infection leading to cold and sore throat and now along with it there is secondary bacterial infection leading to tonsillitis and throat pain.
You should take another course of antibiotics like Augmentin or levofloxacine or Cephexime, take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, gargle with numbing mouthwash conatining Lignocaine, do warm saline gargles..
Chew Vitamin C pellet..
Suck on throat lozenges, sip on plenty of warm water..
You can also gargle with antimicrobial mouthwash..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
