Suggest Treatment For Cold Sores And Right Sided Facial Pain
I suffer with cold sores on a regular basis.. I currently have a very bad out break with at least three areas of my mouth affected. I am currently in soo much pain with the ones on the right lower side of my face. I have been to see the doctor an am on the 4th day of anti viral medication. The infection has moved down my neck and into the front of my lower neck shoulder. Is there anything I can do for the pain?
As per your complain cold sores is caused by Herpes simplex virus 1 and it can lead to painful sores or blisters around the mouth and it can be accompanied with fever and lymph node enlargement.. As you are experiencing pain in side of neck it is possibly due to infection progressing to the lymph nodes of the neck region leading to pain in that area.. The viral infection runs its course and subsides within two weeks or less and as the infection will subside the lymph nodes will also regress and you will get relieved.. For pain control you can take OTC painkillers like Ibuprofen 400 three times a day.. You can do warm [NOT HOT] compresses over the area..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
