Suggest Treatment For Cold And Runny Nose During Pregnancy
Hi I am 40 weeks + 6 days pregnant. I think I have strep throat. My throat has been very inflamed and hard to swallow for the past 2 days. I have also had a head cold, runny nose, heavy head and tired. Do you think I need to go on antibiotics? I am concerned if I go into labour and still feel terrible but I am also concerned that the antibiotics could be bad for my baby
Hello, I appreciate your concern about your baby and admire your positive outlook. As you are already 41 week pregnant, there are every chances that anytime you may go into labour. if i were your treating doctor, i would not suggest you antibiotics, but rather would suggest you to have hot salt water gargles 4 to 5 times a day, take hot water steam bath 2 to 3 times a day, drink plenty of water and eat health food. This will surely reduce the severity of your symptoms. So follow few home made treatments rather than going for unnecessary antibiotics and wait for few days, you will definitely improve. Wishing you best health in future.
