Hi

You need to elaborate in terms of if he is allergic to dust or any other things that trigger the symptoms, if the cough is dry or wet, if wet what color is the sputum, cold refers to runny nose or a blocked one and if any associated symptoms.

However you may start the following, assuming he is pron to the what we call as "common cold"

1. Swasamrutha (Siddha Pharmaceuticals) - 1/4 tsp - four times a day- After food.

2. Haridra Khanda (Baba Ramdev s Patanjali or any authentic pharma) - 1/4 tsp - mixed in Luke warm milk - twice a day - anytime of the day- preferably morning and night.

You will see a definite drop in the symptom and the severity in a couple of days. Upon complete cease in occurrence of the symptom, you may stop the above medicines. But make sure you have it in you medical cabinet if it were to strike again.

Note - You can use
Chyawanaprash (Any pharma except dabur -1/4 tsp - anytime of the day with milk)

and

Aravindasava (Kottakal Pharmaceuticals /Ayur Vaidya Shala - 1/4 tsp - twice a day - after food)

to ensure good immunity and to keep such symptoms at bay.

Avoid food and activities which cause stimulation or aggravation of symptoms.

Hope this was helpful.

Warm Regards
