i suffer from chronic migraines, which have been relatively controlled for the past 8 years with low dose of amitriptylene, but haven t had a single one since I stopped eating gluten for gastrointestinal reasons 7 months ago. At that time, i also went through C3-C4 disc herniation, and have been in physical therapy ever since. Not sure what cases what, but here s my concern: for the past 3 years, there are periods of time where every time i stand up i black out and have to sit on the ground to avoid total pass-out. In the past 3-4 months, this has now become accompanied often by severe throbbing from the base of the neck to the cranial ridge and around the sides of my skull, and the black-out has become more of flashing lights in my periphery. I still have to breathe deeply or squat to avoid passing out. and it s pretty annoying. and all the doctors tell me is stand up more slowly . but it happens even if I sit for just a moment and get back up, and it s not like i m jumping up. just getting up like a normal person. but the head throbbing now - should i find a neurologist (I moved to France two years ago and haven t set one up yet, particularly because my regular doc writes my script and i haven t had any change in the migraines, save for these last 7 months...)??
