General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic...

Some amount of mucus can be present in stool...

But this is associated with diarrhea, gas like condition since childhood. ..

So causes like chronic colitis, Celiac disease, parasitic infection, malabsorption syndrome like tropical sprue etc should be ruled out....

According to cause further specific treatment can be guided...

Stool culture and USG needs to be done first.....

Than if needed colonoscopy can be done for further work up....

If no specific cause present than functional bowel disease like irritable bowel disease can be the cause for which fiber supplement or laxative useful...
Take care

Physician or gastroenterologist consultation for examination
