Suggest Treatment For Chronic Headache And Migraine Despite Medication

About 3 years ago I started to have an increase in headaches and then migraines. I went to the doctor. They diagnosed me with occipital nuerolgia. They first put me on baclofen with little relief and then gabapentin. The migraines are not as frequent (maybe one to two a month) but I have a constant headache in the back of my neck up my head. I then started to experience spells where I thought I was going to faint and had to sit down right away. Sometimes my left eye would black out and I would have tingling in my arms. They took me off the baclofen thinking that my be a side effect. Then I had a tilt table test done because my blood pressure is so low. 89-60. I m now 18. They increased the gabapentin. I have had a mri, heart tests, not showing anything. I have tried accupunture, massage, chriopracter (several). The tilt table test did show I have another condition but I can t remember the name. Vasovagel something. I have started college and now am having an increase of stronger pains and it s hard to concentrate. I also tried flexeral but that was too sedative. They also had me try nortriptelyne. That changed my mood too bad. Now shes going to have me try Lamitical. I m so tired of taking these pills with no real relief. I will get botox injections in my head and that helps but only for a short time. It use to be longer. I just started to see a new chripractor and he had x-rays taken showing my spine from by tailbone to the base of my neck is twisted to the left and from the neck to the base of the skull twisted to the right. He s never seen anything like it. Am I going to have to live with this. The dizziness and fainting feeling is also getting worse. Help!!!

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chronic headache and migraine despite medication which could be due to sensory stimuli like light and loud sound, aged cheeses, salty foods and caffeinated product, food additives, stress and changes in wake-sleep pattern. Need not to worry. It is very important to find out trigger factors . You should start with preventive measures first. If you didn't use preventive treatment for migraine headaches, three drug classes used for this purpose are with doctor's prescription are antidepressants, antiepileptics and calcium channel blockers. Severe migraine can also be treated by the use of ergot alkaloid drugs. These drugs need to be taken under the supervision of your doctor. Hence please do consult neurologist for prescription of drugs.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
