Suggest Treatment For Chronic Constipation In An Infant

hi doc.. my daughter is 1 year and 4 months.. she is suffering from chronic constipation.. we tried every think to solve it but we failed. taking laxitive orally changing food habits taking lot of water and juice but nothing progress.. what i shall do ???????

Hi..I can understand your concern...As per your query about chronic constipation in your child who is about 1 year and 4 months...If laxatives and other home remedies are not working and constipation is severe like he has not any motion from last many days ,I would suggest you to consult a paediatrician for having pediatric enema.Also he will properly examine her for what is causing it if it happens usually..Beside this you shouldn't use feeding bottle for your baby instead give her milk or any liquids in a glass or cup to drink .because sometimes gastritis occurs in baby due to use of feeding bottles..Avoid giving preserved food formulas available in market but try giving home made porridge which are healthy and can be easily digested.Liquids should be fed more in any form and make his regular habit of bowel movement by selecting a proper time usually in morning...I hope the information helps you.Take care.
