Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Chocolate cyst of the ovary is a blood cyst in the ovary. This happens due to endometriosis of the ovary, that is presence of uterine lining in the ovary. During the menstrual cycle, this endometrium also bleeds resulting in such chocolate cyst. If the cyst is big and symptomatic in spite of the treatment with OC pills and pain killers, you need a surgical management of the cyst. This cyst may be aspirated or removed surgically. Please report to your gynaecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nishikant Shrotri
