Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain, Rapid Pulse And High BP
I went to the ER for chest pain, rapid pulse and elevated blood pressure. My blood test reveled elevated D-dimer. I was given asprin and morphine, a Cardiac CT was done and no blockage found. I was released saying the cause of my pain is not yet known and I should follow up with my PCP with two day. Should I be worried?
A positive d dimer does not mean that a clot is present. It can be falsely positive which means that though the result is positive, no clot is present.
The cardiac CT and ECG should have shown any problems that can occur with the heart.
It is possible the pain may be related to another structure in the chest. Chest pain can originate from the skin inwards.
Your follow appointment should help to reveal the source of the pain.
I hope this helps
