What is considered standard proto call when a patient resents in the ER with lower leg cellulitis, afebrile, low grade fever, hypoxia and a white blood count of 19.6. , the tested as G strain staph aureus. outcome 2weeks later , specialist confirmed mssa sepsis , morbidund 6 days ICU

Standard protocol is to start on antibiotics according to drug sensitivity pattern. The antibotic to be started empirically till drug sensitivity is available is Amoxycilin with Clavulanic acid orally in case the patient has low grade fever only. If patient is toxic, intravenous antibiotics can be started. In case Methicillin resistant strain MRSA is grown drug of choice is vancomycin intravenously. Additional supportiv emeasures are required if patient is in septicemia
