Suggest Treatment For Carcinoma Buccal Mucosa With History Of Diabetes

Hi my dad is diagonised with carcinoma buccal mucosa, stage 3, just 2 days before. He is 64yrs with diabeties and had a bypass surgery in 2007 jan.. Now what is the treatment for such patients, assuming it has not spread any longer. If so what is the survival period...

Hello thanx for consult at hcm.you have to control sugar levels by antidiabetic medicines and insulin.you have to get ct scan and pet scan to see for metastasis to other region..it may need chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgical therapy.depending on extent,his oncologist will decide type of treatment.kindly consult your oncologist asap..hope it helps..take care..
