Suggest Treatment For Candida Esophagitis

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I had been diagnosed with candida esophagitis, I had been on prilosec but it wasn't helping. I took week of diflucan but as soon as I was off it, the pain can back, took prilosec but no help. The dr came me some more diflucan but started having this back pain. Got off it.
I am now taking acidophilus, enzymes and some licorice, but still having pain which radiates from my
back. Any suggestions.

Hello and welcome to HCM!
I read that you took prilosec (omeprazole), in order to reduce the pain caused by gastric acid. And then you took diflucan (fluconazole) but the symptoms got back once you stopped it. I would suggest to try taking itraconazole, which is the choice if fluconazole didn't work. However, ask your doctor if you can tolerate itraconazole. The standard regimen is 200 mg/day for about three weeks.

Hope it helps and I wish you a quick recovery!
