Suggest Treatment For Cancer

My wife had a Stage 2A Type AB thymoma removed. The Surgen is very confident that it was encapulsated and that he removed it all. The radiation oncologist feels that radiation may reduce the chance of reocurrnace. Is radiation in her case the way to go or do the rediation risk make it not the way to go?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, she should definitely take radiotherapy.
Any cancer surgery has risk of spillage of cancer cells at operative site even if it is capsulated tumour.
So chances of recurrence at operative site are high due to spillage of cells.
To avoid this local sit recurrence, post operative radiotherapy is needed.
So get done radiotherapy in her case.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your wife. Thanks.
