Suggest Treatment For Calluses On The Heel Of The Feet

Hello, I have problems on the heel of my foot for a while. At first I thought it was a callus but now I am unsure. It hurts to put pressure on it, to put on any shoe and to walk sometimes. It s hard skin and it s a hole in the middle and the hole has something black inside. I m not sure what s the problem and who I should see for this.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome. Corns and calluses can be treated with many types of medicated products to chemically pare down the thickened, dead skin. Many products are available for use as home remedies. These products all share the same active ingredient -- salicylic acid, the ingredient used in over-the-counter wart-removal products. In svere cases it should be treated surgically.
Wish you good health. Regards
