Suggest Treatment For Burping During Pregnancy

I am 18 weeks pregnant and am having gurgles in my throat, with or without burping, usually after I eat, sometimes before. Have had acid reflux problems before, especially during my other 2 pregnancies, but never like this. My dr. put me on prilosec 40 mg, tums, gas-x and to try ranitadine as well, but none seem to be working. Have not gained much weight during this pregnancy, as everything seems to make me sick. Seems to help somtimes if I lie down for awhile propped up with pillows. Any ideas or anything else to try? Also have allergies, but it seems as if I have a lot of excess mucous and saliva as well and feel like I want to spit it out all the time.

Hi,
Please try to make your meals smaller and frequent, with a gap of 2-3 hours. Continue with the propped up position as it eases the pressure on the diaphragm. You should avoid foods which form gas in the stomach, like, dals. Instead, use some easily digestible stuff with less oil content and not deeply fried. You can also use some digestive enzyme for some time. Dry fruits like pista often help to retain the taste in the mouth. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you safe motherhood.
