Suggest Treatment For Bumpy Rash On Leg Below Ankles
i have a bumpy rash on my right leg below the knee above the ankle. It gets itchy and it also feels warm to the touch sometimes - warm to the touch on the outer side of the leg. I have had a smaller version of the rash for quite a while and was told it was a leaky vein, but recently after being on my feet for a long time i had terrible swelling and the rash got worse. I took an extra lasix and wore the tight hose on that leg - the swelling went down some but it is still itchy and swollen. i am overweight
The kind of rash you have could be suggestive of either a vascular skin pathology or an infection like cellulitis . A vasculitisskin rash can present with red to purple brown lesions in the pressure areas like the lower legs . Such a skin rash needs to be evaluated in detail to look for its exact cause . Cellulitis needs to be managed with antibiotics . See a nearby dermatologist and get properly evaluated.
