what causes an oval off colored (but not a bruise) light brown spot on my rib cage? it looks almost like a birth mark, but just showed up about 2 weeks ago... and it hurts so badly sometimes its hard to breathe. And now ive noticed im starting to get a spot on my other side also

I really appreciate your concern, if the lesion is painful then it could be due to infection and it can be well treated with antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs like Tab Amoxicillin 500 mg three times in day and Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg three times in day, if this symptoms persist then it need to be clinically examined hope this information helps.
