Suggest Treatment For Bruise And Soreness In Left Big Toe Nail

My left big toe nail is bruised-- For two days prior, the nail was sore but with no bruising. I thought the pair of shoes I was wearing could have caused the soreness but I switched shoes after day 1 and it remained sore. Now the toe nail is still sore but is totally discolored (bruised)-- I do not remember stubbing it or dropping anything on it

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the toe was injured by the shoe or some other mechanism in some minor trauma that you do not recall.

If it is swollen, using a warm compress may help.

The use of anti inflammatory pain killers would help with any swelling or pain present eg naproxen, ibuprofen, cataflam.

You should watch for any evidence of infection. If present, you may need to go and see your doctor.

I hope this helps
