Suggest Treatment For Bruise And Pain In The Hand

My almost 4 year old fell about 5 days ago. She landed on her hand, palm open, and was in a lot of pain. After a day went by it became very swollen. Took her for x-rays and they were clear . She still has pain, isn t using her hand for certain tasks, and it is still swollen on the back of her hand, her knuckles are bruised as well and look black. The inside of her hand appears to be bruised too. I feel like they missed something in the x-ray. Help!

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I have studied your case and I think there can be two possibilities.
1. First she might have a condition which is called pulled elbow. In this condition there is dislocation of forearm bone and after that child does not uses his hand properly. It has to be treated with close reduction and it needs a doctor to tackle this issue.
2.Other possibility is that it can be a soft tissue injury and her hand needs to be splinted so that she can get proper rest.
i hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other follow up question.
thanks
