Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother is been admitted in Hospital as she was having breathing problem. Dr says her heart is functioning at 25%, so liquid has formed in her liver and so it needs to drained out. This is second time in 2 months we have admitted for the same reason. She has been done Angio 3 years back and found there are blocks. We have decided not to go for bypass surgery as patient is not ready and we were not able to do angioplast as Dr said that they can t do at that place. She is under medication for past these days. Now Dr says that as her heart is working only 25% she will have this sort of problem. What can be done for this?
Hello, It sounds like she has heart failure. The standard medications for this are diuretics, ACE inhibitors and beta blockers. She needs to be cared for by a cardiologist that specializes in heart failure. Regards
