Suggest Treatment For Body Aches With Fever And Sore Throat
I have had a flu shot 3 days ago this is the fourth day and I have had body aches, sore throat, fever, and now a horrible cough that won't let me rest....it is hard to breathe and feels like there is weight on my chest...my husband wants me to take some cough meds so he and I can get sleep. I have high blood pressure controlled with HDCL and 3 valves in my heart that are prolapsed with regurgitation...mitral, tricuspid and (the word sounds like one of the arteries that delivers blood to the brain that runs up the back of ones neck and there are two of them) not ceratoid)
cannot remember the name of the 3rd ...what medications (names of the drugs) should I avoid...there are 3 or 4 different cough suppressants over the counter and I don't know which to take./

I don't advice to
Continue the over the counter cough syrup I advice you to take some antibiotics like roxithromycin for throat infection .though the cause of flu is viral take some antibiotics and nsaids may be needed for body pain.take some decongestants and antihistamines may be needed.as these drugs are available only with prescription of a physician consult your physician

Well come to HCM
If this is attack of flu, with history of fever and some cardiac condition then the chances of some bacterial infection could be likely, if I would be treating physician then I would look for the anti-hypertensive drugs, because if this is ACE inhibitors then this could induce the cough and may be associated with your flu, I would suggest the following drugs.
1) Tab Azithromycin 500 mg once in day for three days
2) Tab Loratidine three times in day
better to discus for anti-hypertensive drug with your physician, you can not take any drug on counter if you have some cardiac condition, you have to consult the physician for any symptoms, hope this information helps, take care.
