Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband had an angiogram yesterday by his cardiologist who has been seeing him for 6 years. He has not had any heart attacks. But he has BP which is under control with medications and also diabetic which is treated with medicines. The angiogram results were LAD fully occluded on the front and right artery 70% blocked. The Dr felt that from experience fully blocked arteries should be treated with by pass as stunting will prolapse again. My husband wants minimally a invasive treatment. What is your opinion. Please respond.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern. As your husband has multiple blocked artery, i would suggest him by-pass surgery. By-pass grafting is a open heart surgery which would be done with general anesthesia. With this his both right & left coronary arteries would be by-passed & new way of circulation would be made. This procedure has good success of 95% & therefore you should not worry much. Stent placement (angioplasty) is not advised in case of two artery disease. It has high chances of relapse of the blockage in diabetic patients.
Refer to your cardiologist
