I have blister like sores on the tops of 3 toes (2 on one foot, 1 on another). They appeared about a week and a half ago, I thought they were blisters. They looked like it but didn t feel squishy like a blister and there were one or two hard small lumps. They were sore so I stopped wearing closed in shoes and was icing them. They became red and have not changed size after a week but they also have not gone away and are still sore, albeit not so much. If my feet get hot they hurt more. There is no open wound. I ve also had hard bumps appear on the tops of these same toes but they have no coloration. I thought perhaps the inititial sores were insect bites but I don t see why I would be getting more bumps? Also if I need to get this looked at do I go to a GP or a dermatologist?
Hi. As per your case history you are having pompholyx. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
