Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of having bleeding stomach ulcer, needing 5 blood transfusions and wants to know more. Since you are having a bleeding large ulcer, the chances of being cancer must be ruled out and hence you need to wait for the biopsy report, get CT scan of the abdomen done, recheck for hemoglobin and other investigations. Further treatment will depend upon the reports. Till then continue the medicines prescribed by your Doctor, have soft bland diet. No stress or anxiety. The black tarry stools will change over to normal after sometime if the bleeding has stopped.
