Hi...i had unprotected sex on the 23rd of august and i took postinor2 on the 24th. My period was supposed to be on the 2nd of September but i started having a slight bleeding on the 1st of September...At first i thought it was my period but i later noticed it wasnt the normal menstral blood, it was very little and brownish in colour. You need not have to take medications for the bleeding caused by Postinor-2 (levonorgestrel).
Intermenstraul bleeding is quite commonly seen with levonorgestrel. And you need not worry about it. But along with it, the menstrual cycle is also affected. It's very difficult to predict when will the normal bleeding occur. It can occur after a day or two or can extend up to one full cycle.
If you have taken this drug within 24 hours of intercourse, then 95% of expected pregnancy will be prevented. So, if the bleeding gets unusually delayed, then you might have to get yourself tested for pregnancy.
