Suggest Treatment For Black Bowel Movement With High Fever
my husband is 27 yrs old and since about yesterday at 10pm he has been having watery dark green to black stools. fever last night of 101.0. hasn't had one yet, he has been drinking water and orange juice to keep hydrated. unable to keep anything down. been taking ibuprofen 800mg. what else should i do?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 27 year old husband and understood your concerns. Watery dark green to back stool indicate severe intestinal infection and blood in stool that is altered to black color. This can be serious hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult your Doctor or ER urgently for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations of blood and stool. Get him Intravenous fluids and antibiotics if required. Oral antibiotics active against intestinal infection, metronidazole, probiotics and so on. Oral rehydration solution, plenty of boiled and cooled fluids. Homemade foods only. Tests of blood and stool. Further management as required.
