Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder

hi, im 14 years old

and ive been changing my moods from really happy (cant stop laughing) to really depressed (cant do anything, i feel like crying for no reason). Sometimes i cant even do anything during the day. i have so much going through my mind all the time. Sometimes i even get obsessed with people and things that i cant get out of my mind. I looked up some psychological diseases, and i may have bipolar disorder. I dont know if i should tell my parents, well because i doubt they'll believe me. and i was just wondering if there is anyway you could help me?

thanks....

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

You should not think you have bipolar disorder. Your problem may be related multiple issues like adjustment problem, anxiety, depression or bipolarity. You should get assessed by nearby psychiatrist to reach final diagnosis, so that long term treatment can be planned in your case.

Inform your family members regarding the problems, so that they can arrange for consultation for you. Same till quit smoking or alcohol (if present in your case).

Wishing you good health and all the best.

Psychiatrist Dr. Abhishek Kapoor's  Response
Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic

Mood swings are part of bipolar disorder and in your case, on basis on mood swings only, we can't make diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Better to consult a psychiatrist about the diagnosis. Take your parents with you and that would give additional information. In case, you need more information, you can ask.

Thanks
