Suggest Treatment For Big Bruises And Bumps On The Waist

My husband started breaking out last night. I first thought it might be poison ivy/oak. It spread from his backbone around his left side above his waist. By tonight, the tiny bumps have gotten bigger & spread & look more blistery. They don t itch or hurt, just burn a little where the skin hangs over. I hate to think it, but I feel he probably has shingles. I gave him benedryl & applied hydrocortisone. Hopefully, he can see a Dr tomorrow. What else can you tell me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. Please find my advice below-:
1)Do a full blood count with differential
2)as per history it looks like viral infection (molluscum contagiosum)which will go away on its own but if prevent it from secondary bacterial infection and itching.OTC medications are available for it .

I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.
Wishing you all the best.
Thanks,
