Hello,

I am not the doctor you are finding but I can understand your concern and can give you advise regarding your query.

Bell's palsy occurs due to paralysis of the facial nerve on one side due to reasons that are many times not understood. Every case of Bell's Palsy is different and two different episodes in a single person can also be different. Thus, as you got cured from Bell's Palsy in the first episode, does not unfortunately mean that the case will just the same this time too.

Usually, little efforts can be made other than waiting for the nerve to regenerate and restart the sensations in the involved area. Physiotherapy and electrical stimulation are the treatment modalities that work best for such cases and you have already started them so you might see the results soon. As the first episode was for just one month, you can expect the sensations to be back in little more than a month if not exactly within a month. You can also massage the paralyzed area that that has shown good results.

I would also like to advise you to go for MRI and CT Scans so that we can rule out any abnormality or lesion that may be compressing on the facial nerve causing repeated episodes of the Bell's Palsy. If such lesion is present, its removal is advised.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
