Suggest Treatment For Back Pain Caused Due To Scoliosis And Degenerative Disc

I have constant back pain from a 45 degree scoliosis and degenerative disc disorder. I never get a nights sleep without Ativan, 2 mg per day at bedtime. I have a very young doctor who insists that nobody at all should ever need this kind of help and I disagree. I need the help.

Good morning,
This is something for you to seek a second opinion on. A 45 degree curve is a very serious curve. A 65 degree curve, for example, is almost a mandatory major surgery. You should be braced at a minimum, have your legs measured by x-ray and length descreptancies corrected with a heel lift or shoe lift. Chiropractors can be of great assistance with pain control, but they will not be able to correct a curve as advanced as yours. You should see a D.O., rather than an MD as a DO specializes in manipulative therapy and should understand your problem. Thank you for coming to HCM. KShattler,MS,RDN
