Suggest Treatment For Ataxia Due To Inflammation Around Brain Tumor

I have been given Betanoid ,5mg to reduce the inflammation around recently Diagnosed bain tumours. The ataxia has worsened and walking is nearly impossible. I take 3 pills a day. Due to a bipolar disorder these are being kept to a minimum. Please advise.

I am sorry about the symptoms that you are experiencing.

Betanoid is Betamethasone which is a corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are widely used to reduces inflammation around the tumor but the one which has shown to be most effective for brain tumor among them is Dexamethasone, so I would advise changing from Dexamethasone. An equivalent to 15 mg of Betamethasone a day would be 18,75 mg a day, which is not a low dose.
Of course they reduce the swelling around the tumor but they don't do that much about the tumor itself so symptoms might still be progressing if the tumor is not treatable, corticosteroids only slow progression down.

I hope to have been of help.
