Suggest Treatment For Anxiety And Stress After Treated Ovarian Cyst

I would be grateful if you could help.

I am tired. Hot but not febrile. Sweaty at night, but not soaking and I have not lost any weight if anything I have gained weight as I am the worlds worst comfort eater.

In December I got a really bad cold and a cough which was productive but my chest was clear and a vein appeared from nowhere across my chest. I continued to feel unwell with vague symptoms of back pain and upper abdominal pain. In February I started vomiting and it was discovered that I had an ovarian cyst (approx 20kg). This was removed and whilst one pathologist thought it was benign another believed it was a mucinous tumour of low malignant potential (low grade cancer). I have recently discovered that no other tissue samples were taken other than cyst and ovary, so the staging confuses me. Follow up is in 1 yearâ??s time. However I had an ultrasound scan of my remaining ovary and NAD.

I have continued to have pelvic and abdo pain and my reflux medication has been increased to 40mg omeprozole od. I have a sore throat/ jaw (not exactly sure where pain is coming from) but ever time the gp looks at it nothing is found. I also have neck pain - no lymph nodes have been felt but I am tender particularly at the top of the back of my neck.

I also had a very tender breast and have been referred to a breast clinic. I was seen yesterday and though it was a benign breast disease, the name escapes me. He could not feel any worrying lymph nodes. I am awaiting an ultrasound.

Last week my legs swelled. Pitting oedema to knees and a second kneecap underneath. In order to exclude a dvt they ultra sounded one of my legs and found incidental enlarged lymph nodes. The swelling is now much better, but I still have two kneecaps! I have also noted a lump in front of my ear canal, which is hard and slightly tender to the touch. (Ignored it for a week as thought it was a spot)

I have seen my gp on numerous and she has now put me on amitriptiline for tension headaches and could not understand why I am still worried. All basic bloods have come back normal.

I had this cyst out via keyhole surgery and was on the table for nearly 6 hours, cutting the cyst in order to get it out. I am beginning to accept that the length of time on the table would of causes diaphoretic irritation and I must be very bruised inside. Perhaps I am being silly. I am extremely stressed and now not very good at presenting a coherent argument. I am tempted to ignore this but something in me says perhaps I shouldn't.

Your input would be extremely valuable to me.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Anxiety and stress associated with surgical procedures tend to last some time. That is because body and mind is also involved in the procedure. Such procedure and stress could produce anti-stress hormones within the body and body makes it a habit. Don't worry.

Now, as almost all of your investigations came normal, you should stop worrying about your health and concentrate on what you are doing. You do have health related anxiety (hypochondriasis) and you should consult a psychologist or psychiatrist for treatment.

If you require more of my help in this aspect, please use this URL. http://goo.gl/aYW2pR. Make sure that you include every minute details possible.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
