Suggest Treatment For Ankylosing Spondylitis

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis in my neck. My family doctor says that my neck is fused and there is nothing I can do about it. I would like a second opinion on this. Is there any way I can treat this problem as the disease appears to be progressing? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Its very sad to tell you that ankylosing spondylitis is a progressive disease (bony problem) without any cure.
However, its progress can be delayed and symptoms can be reduced to some extent with proper advice and measures.

You can have analgesics for severe pain,
joint mobilizers like glucosamine and some nerve supplements in the required dosage.
Physiotherapy would be beneficial,
Avoid massaging.

Some alternate form of medicine like acupuncture might be helpful to you.
Regular exercise would help you to increase the range of joint movements.
Take care
