Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I get severe itch in the anus. I found this happens just before bowel movement. I wake up in odd times due to this. This itch many times spread to areas around anus. Sometimes this area goes very dry. If I spray slightly hot water, I feel comfortable but not for long. .
Anal itching could be caused due to following reasons:
1. Pin worm infestation. 2. Presence of anal fissures.
Kindly do the following to overcome them:
1. Take Tablet Albendazole. This would help to get rid of worm infestations.
2. Take soft and easily digestible food rich in dietary fibres. Along with it use stool softener like Isapgol Husk Powder regularly. This would help to overcome constipation and helps the fissures to heal. Kindly maintain good personal hygiene. Gradually, you should be able to overcome this problem and be back to normal.
Hope the information provided would be helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further. All the best.
Regards, Dr. Ashakiran S
