Hi,
Welcome to health care magic.
If you have diagnosed with
anal fistula then I will advice you to see surgeon (
proctologist) to diagnose it correctly.
Since you had a history of fistulectomy then there is high chance of recurrence fistula. It is very difficult to comment about surgeon's fault without actual examination of previous fistula and without knowing that how was it operated.
The definitive treatment is only surgical in case of anal fistula means the best is to remove it by surgery to prevent recurrence and pain with foul smelly discharge.
There are few different kinds of surgeries done in high anal fistula.
1) Some surgeons prefer to do in three stage, if the fistula is of ''High Type''.
The first stage is to
colostomy to bypass the anus of the feces full of bacteria.
In second stage then they would Excise the whole fistula tract and restitch the internal sphincter.
In the third stage, Once this anal wound is healed colostomy is closed.
2) If the anal fistula is of ''low type'', this is a single stage surgery, where either the tracts is laid open to allow to heal or the tract is excised in to.
The complications of surgery are,
The biggest danger is incontinence- occurs only if the internal sphincter in inadvertently cut through and through. as a single cut, that no surgeon with the knowledge would do.
There are chances of recurrence is high in this.
You should
consult general surgeon for complete treatment.
