Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi doctor , I am suffering from anal fissure for the last 1 month and the last two weeks the pain was realy more after each bowel movement. Doctor gave me 100mcg docusate sodium, it has increase by bowel movement more and I feel irritation pain each time. I affects my morning work . Evening time when the pain has subsided it starts itching heavily. Its unbearable. I am keep doing sitz bath , applying oxerute ointment. but no remedy so far. can you please guide me.
I really appreciate your concern, fissure can be managed with medicine (Medically) but that would not be the cure of this, it can only gives some relief for time being, in very rare condition it may cured with conservative measurement, like relive the constipation, and it is the only best option one can have if the constipation is not there then fissure could healed but it is not the case all the time and surgery is the best option for this, once the fissure managed with surgery then second step is to reduce the constipation and it can be relieved with drinking more water, and eating more fiber containing diet,
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain Shaikh
