Suggest Treatment For Alternate Chronic Diarrhea And Constipation

Yes, Was in the ER today with a 76 yr old friend with chronic diarhhea, chronic constipation A stool sample was done and a CT scan. CT scan shows no change to diverticulotis, but the stool sample came back with a bacteria usually caused by anti-biotic use, which she hasnt taken. Cedeff or Cideff was mentioned and I can t find reference to it. Another antibiotic Flagel? was recommended to kill it off.

Hello.
It seems that your friend has C difficile infection which is common in elderly people and also in people who have taken antibiotics in the previous 3 months.
Flagyl is the correct treatment for this and should continued as prescribed.
