Suggest Treatment For Allergic Skin Rash Caused By Poison Ivy
My husband thought he had poison ivy, but it never spread and he is very allergic to poison ivy. He had a reddish area the size of a nickel on his inner forearm, which now has grown to about the size of a dollar coin. He says it has been about 2 months, but I think it has been about 1 month. Still itchy and very red.

It is possible that it may be a fungal infection. This can be the size that you mentioned and may also cause itching as well.
It would be treated with a topical antifungal agent such as ketoconazole, econazole, miconazole, clotrimazole.
It can take 2 to 3 weeks for a fungal infection to respond to treatment.
In the initial stage, a topical steroid cream can be used to help decrease the itching eg hydrocortisone
These medications may be over the counter but if this is not the case then his doctor can prescribe for him.
