Suggest Treatment For Acute Renal Failure

I am 57 years old with acute renal failure. I have dropped 70 pounds in the last 9 months. I had a pet scan last week showing uptake in my pan crease and bones. They want to do a bone marrow biopsy? My calcium and vitamin d is always high when I get my dialysis results. I vomit regularly and everything including water taste sweet afterwards. Can you give some information or answers please.

HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.

First of all since how long are you getting dialysis done ? Because I feel you are having Chronic Renal failure and not Acute renal failure .

I need to know your recent Serum Creatinine and Blood Urea values , also your Ultrasound abdomen scan report also .

Your weight loss can be explained by your renal failure but what needs to be evaluated is whether your are having any additional causes for weight loss ( especially cancer )

Your Calcium and Vitamin D levels are high probably due to a condition called Secondary Hyperparathyroidism. You need to consult an Endocrinologist for this .

Vomiting could be due to high Calcium/Vitamin D or it could be due to problems in stomach like Gastritis or Ulcer. In that regard I would you to get Upper GI Endoscopy scan done and revert back with reports.

But presently I need to know whether you have Acute/ Chronic Renal failure because all the above matter discussed holds good for Chronic Renal failure and not Acute Renal failure .

So kindly revert back with details asked.

Regards.
