Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr shareef answering your query.
If I were your doctor, I would advise your husband for a proton pump inhibitor, a prokinetic drug, and a probiotic drug. In case he eats from outside, he should avoid it should be tested for amebiasis in his stool test. If positive, treatment of this condition would relieve him of his symptoms. If the problem persists, he should be assessed by a gastro enterologist possibly endoscopically.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
